Schadenfreude Entropic Dissolution

“The decay and disintegration of this culture is astonishingly amusing if you are emotionally detached from it.”

– George Carlin

Schadenfreude Entropic Dissolution

The glee enjoyed watching the dysfunctional system collapse.

Listen…….

The next revolution is going to be a revolution of ideas.

– Bill Hicks

Seems Criminal

What if the crimes against humanity is having things be crimes, instead finding peaceable permanent solutions.

Moving past the repetition of repent and recidivism.

It is becoming increasingly and glaringly obvious that the rule of law is not working. As the rulers are more lawless then the ruled.

My favorite long Ayn Rand quote.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against…

We’re after power and we mean it… There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.

Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone?

But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt.

Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”

― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Won’t it be strange

All the world’s indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another’s audience
Outside the gilded cage

“The program for this evening is not new

You’ve seen this entertainment
through and through.

You’ve seen your birth your life and death.

You might recall all of the rest

Did you have a good world
when you died?

Enough to base a movie on?”

“Limelight”

– Rush

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage

Cast in this unlikely role
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact

[Chorus:]
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme

Living in a fish eye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can’t pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend

All the world’s indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another’s audience
Outside the gilded cage

Stuffing

That’s all I want, that’s all you need in life, is a little place for your stuff, ya know? // That’s all your house is, a place to keep your stuff. If you didn’t have so much stuff, you wouldn’t need a house.

You could just walk around all the time.

A house is just a pile of stuff with a cover on it.

– George Carlin

We’ve been indoctrinated into believing we can “own” stuff, or posses “stuff”.

What follows suit then, is the notion that other entities can “take” our stuff.

Or that, our stuff, doesn’t measure up to other people’s stuff, causing an illusionary need to get “better” stuff.

Worse yet, acquiring more stuff, under the deadly deeply imbedded meme “he who dies with the most toys (stuff) “wins”.

Wrong, he who dies with the most toys, dies, regardless how much stuff acquired.

Time for a new meme.

Whoever dies with no hate in their heart or animosity towards fellow space travelers, leaves a legacy of kindness and charity in their absence, wins.

Oh shit, that won’t work, can’t fit that on a t-shirt. Nevermind.

Stranger still, equating that giving and receiving material stuff expresses love.

An emotion on the metaphorical level of DaVinci’s hand of man to God, can’t even get close enough to express in words, let alone in stuff.

Somehow transferring that feeling into the purchased collection of particles shiny, large or one that makes noise, expresses love.

Most vile of all, using the military to threaten, intimidate, and kill sovereign citizens to secure resources “stuff” of varying countries because the corporments have the means and greed to take their “stuff”.

A Haiku intro

For a 9 11 rant

Had legs on its own

So I thought I’d leave it here

And close it with this tanka

Keep It Thimble

I am just a thimble of hope in an ocean of despair.

Profoundly Nothing

“Some ego’s know what they want and pursue their aim with grim and ruthless determination.

Ghengis Kahn, Stalin, Hitler to give just a few larger than life examples.

The energy behind their wanting, however creates an opposing energy of equal intensity which in the end, leads to their downfall.

In the meantime, they make themselves and many others unhappy, or in the larger than life examples, create hell on earth.”

– Eckhart Tolle

Unlearn

Besides knowing how to roll down the road on 26 wheels, the only other things I’ve mastered is cynicism and schadenfreude.

Guess that is what happens when a person gets goofed on for being a pollyana with rose colored glasses.

Time to redevelop some optimism and compassion.
